Pennine Equine's green belt location provides an excellent base for horse riders, cyclists and walkers. Both the Trans Pennine Trail and the Timberland Trail run through the centre's grounds, following disused railways, bridleways, canal towpaths, cycle lanes and cross country tracks covering 350 miles in total. The centre combines a country side setting with an excellent road network and accessibility for small and large vehicles alike. Pennine Equine is 2 minutes drive from the Stocksbridge bypass and A629, with the M1 motorway only 10 minutes away. This makes the centre an ideal launch pad for visitors wishing to take advantage of facilities in the surrounding areas. From climbing to canoeing, from golfing to snowboarding at Sheffield's dry slope centre. All are within comfortable driving distance for great days out. The centre's idyllic surroundings are complemented by the local villages. Their country pubs providing welcome settings for a well earned rest at the end of the day or just a stopping off point before venturing off down a new trail. The villages are steeped in history, each posessing their own unique character and stories to tell. A wealth of industrial and rural heritage lives on in the area's many country homes, museums and purpose built visitor centres. More up to date excursions for adults and children alike are provided for by places like the Magna Science Adventure Centre, Eureka and the IMAX attraction in the National Museum of Photography Film & Television.
